How to test a squeaky grooved click floor
Step 1: Check the floor and the groove
Confirm the floor is a compatible click system with a visible V-groove. Locate the noisy seams and check for damaged edges, lifting, damp or excessive movement. Follow the flooring manufacturer's instructions.
Step 2: Choose two separate test areas
Select two small squeaky areas and note which product will go in each. Keep the treatments separate so you can identify which one improves the noise.
Step 3: Test Click Lube on the first area
Apply Click Lube with the supplied precision applicator as directed in the kit instructions. Click Lube targets friction at the bottom of the locking profile.
Step 4: Test Groove Gasket on the second area
Apply Groove Gasket to the separate test area as directed. It targets friction at the top of the profile, between bevelled edges. Do not layer it over the Click Lube test.
Step 5: Clean up as directed
Remove excess product from the floor surface using the cleaning method specified in the product instructions. Check the cleaning material is suitable for the finish.
Step 6: Wait 24 hours and compare
Wait 24 hours, then walk over each test area and compare the noise with your original observations. An immediate change alone is not the completed test.
Step 7: Choose the treatment that worked
